Consultation Response Walk-through Example
On this page we have set out a walk-through of a consolation response using the Commonplace system.
We are not telling you what to say but showing how you navigate the system and the response form.
Please remember that you have to do this for each part of the Local Plan you wish to comment on. You cannot comment on more than one part (or policy) at a time.
In this example we are showing how you can respond to Policy H3, which is a proposed site for development south of Great Burstead. However, the same approach applies to all policies and other aspects of the Local Plan.
Please note that it is the same response form every time, with the same eight questions and layout.

Firstly, go to the Commonplace system by clicking on the link below

Scroll down the screen and find the 'tile' that shows Chapter 15: Site Allocations
Click on the tile. |

The next screen will allow you to read the Allocation Policies, such as H3 in this example.
When you are ready to comment click on the 'Make your representation here' button. This is a common button throughout the consultation. |

You are now at the Part A feedback form.
In this example you are commenting on Site Allocation Policy H3 so select 'Policy' for Q1. You must only select one option for Q2a-g. Open the drop down menu under Q2c. Part 4 - Site Allocation Policies and then select H3 Land South of Great Burstead. Press Next. |

For Q3 select whether it is Legally Compliant (we suggest selecting Yes) and Sound (we suggest No).
Enter your comments in the field for Q4. If you have ideas for modifications to improve this policy enter them at Q5. If you have any files to support your comments they can be uploaded at Q6 Press Next. |

If you would like to participate, or not, in the examination hearing indicate this at Q7.
If yes, add reasons at Q8. Press Next. |

After clicking on Next please follow any further instructions at on the next page. You might be asked for your email again.
Please look out for a confirmation email. Do not ignore it as it might require you to validate your submission and supply some personal information. Check spam folders in need.
Repeat the above for all parts of the consultation you wish to respond to but you don't have to do all of it. Concentrate on the areas that are most important to you.
