Email or Postal Responses

Whilst the Council would prefer responses to be made via their on-line portal or using their form, it is allowed for responses to be made by email or letter.

But it is very important that you add a paragraph such as this example at the start of your email or letter. Please cut & paste and change as appropriate.

“I’m making this response under Basildon Council's Local Plan (Regulation 19) Public Consultation. My comments relate to the (test of soundness) (legal compliance)* of the plan.

I (would like) (do not wish)* to make a representation to the Planning Inspector at the examination stage expected in summer 2019.”


*please select as appropriate. For most people you will be commenting on the test of soundness. It is a personal choice whether you want to make a representation in person.

After that sentence add your comments about the plan.

The email should be sent to;

Please put Local Plan Consultation as the header in the email.

Letters should be sent to;

Basildon Borough Council,
The Basildon Centre,
St Martin’s Square,
Basildon,
Essex,
SS14,1DL

The deadline for both is 5 pm Monday 17 December, 2018. Please allow for post delivery time, especially so near to Christmas.
