As ever comments and feedback welcome, where do you think the new road could go? What impact do you think it would have on the existing local traffic and existing sites?

So where is the infrastructure in Billericay, to support such large areas for housing developments.

Have the planners checked it out, appears not!

I really can't see Frithwood Lane considered as a road from the new housing estate as Friththwood has just recently had all the foot paths replaced and the work carried has narrowed the road at the top end which in parts is only a single car Lane,so how could we have all this traffic using this Lane,It would be totally ridiculous and dangerous.

Who feels the need to grow the towns population by the numbers mentioned in the draft plan 9/1? Answer is Landowners H20. H21,H22, & H23. The incorrect answer are those have made the town their home and not a commercial venture.

With regard for the need for a relief road, why would you need to create a way to by-pass the High Street? Commercially, it will kill the High Street, ruin the landscape and to say it will alleviate a current /future traffic problems are ill informed . Unfortunately modern life is not as simple as being able to travel around whenever you want and at you own pace without any queues. We queue in the Bakers, Supermarket and even the Pub! The only congestion pinch points occur during school run times where very few actually walk, and in the evening when commuters return home, so you have to 'live with it' and make journey adjustments. What is wrong if you have to queue at one of the few Billericay traffic lights, roundabouts or junctions for a few minutes at a couple of times a day. Remember we a commuter town.

A figure £65M is quoted in the draft plan for a southern relief road and I would make sure this is paid (including Inflation) in full before ANY of the developments are started, and this would ensure nothing ever appears out of the ground. There also appears to some contradiction in the Plan between a "spine road" in H23 and southern relief road which needs to be clarified . As Danny mentioned you can not and will not build it through Frithwood Lane without demolishing homes. Let us all hope that a nearby landowner hasn't been buying up properties, and about to offer these up as additional sites for development.

Lastly, It is worth looking at the voting record of councillors as I gather that some objected the current public consultation.

I honestly understand that towns need to grow, but where will the children go to school? Will there be a doctors surgery, community centre, new bus routes and shops? It's not enough to propose houses and not have the structure to support them.

    Aims of BAG

To protect the Green Belt around Billericay and elsewhere in Basildon Borough from loss through excessive and unjustified development.

To prevent the character of our historic towns from being changed forever.

To ensure that any development that does take place is sustainable, with adequate infrastructure and prioritises local needs.

We support the need for a new Basildon Local Plan and the need for more housing. But it must be of the right number, the right type and in the right places to best help local people obtain a home of their own.
