In our last major article we looked at the Government’s proposed planning reforms (Planning for the Future) which includes changes to the way housing numbers are determined.
The proposed methodology has been widely derided as doing little to build houses in the right places and will lead to just more houses being built in the south of England. It goes directly against the Government’s aims to level up the country. MPs from all parties are waking up to this and are fighting against the reforms.
In this new article we look at the history of housing numbers, specifically for our area, and brings us up to date with what looks to be yet another mutant algorithm.
