This map shows the sites that were allocated in the withdrawn Basildon Local Plan together with their original H-number designation and the number of houses being proposed at the time.

As a reminder, that plan was formulated and approved in 2016/18 but was withdrawn in 2022. The sites have therefore been known about for at least 8 years, probably longer. They were put forward by the landowners under an earlier 'call for sites' exercise and were selected and allocated in the Local Plan by Basildon Council.

The boxes around the map provide the current situation both in terms of planning applications, or known planning activity, and any change in the number of houses now being proposed or the number that have been approved.

Where planning applications exist (as of 27/5/24) these are the reference numbers;

To ensure that any development that does take place is sustainable, with adequate infrastructure and prioritises local needs.

We support the need for a new Basildon Local Plan and the need for more housing. But it must be of the right number, the right type and in the right places to best help local people obtain a home of their own.
