We find ourselves in a short period of limbo when it comes to the new Basildon Local Plan until after the local ward elections on 4 May and until the resulting administration forms its Cabinet and Committees which will be towards the end of May. We expect that the Council meeting on 25 May will be when matters are finalised and announced.
As a result, all planning matters whether day to day planning applications or the work on Local Plan are on hold from a public visibility point of view.
However, we have to assume that the Council's planning officers are continuing to work on an Issues & Options Public Consultation that is expected to be launched in June.
This is an important first step and we will provide more information as soon as we have the details.
